What We Can't Live Without

These are a few of the images from my project in my fine art photography class. I imagined with this project that certain patterns would have developed in what items people chose, but to be honest, my expectations were completely wrong. That aside, I still had a lot of fun doing this series and it pushed me to get creative in how I photograph items. Hope you enjoy.

RC Planes

My brother and his father-in-law are both RC plane enthusiasts so I thought it would be fun to get some shots of their planes in flight. This was a lot easier with my new camera.

Sadly, she didn't get airborne that day.

Survival Belts

These shots were for a friend of mine who sells hand-made survival belts made from paracord. They are awesome. If you ever find yourself in need of 200 feet of rope, look no further than around your waist.
I shot these on my new Canon 7D and using one speedlite with an umbrella.

A lesson in patience and a little luck

So I've been trying to practice my art more of recent and the recent lightning storm seemed like a good chance to do that. These were shot with my Canon Rebel XSI, a Sigma 10-20mm lens, and a remote shutter release. The first couple came out okay, nothing to really get too excited about, but the last one made my night. Took me about two and half hours, but I finally got the big one I was hoping for. It was so loud that it shook my apartment, set off car alarms, and I think my heart skipped a couple of beats.

Photo stitching and tilt-shift goodness

These were my first attempt at photostitching in Photoshop. It was made from 13 photos. I couldn't decide on which crop I liked better. Anywho, hope you enjoy.
