Heroes Series - Soldiers

As for now, this is the last installment of my Heroes series. I'll have a few more in a couple of weeks.

Heroes Series - Nurses/Doctors

My good friend Jennifer was kind enough to let me bug her and her fellow nurses at the hospital to take these pictures (although I think they had more fun than I did. One even volunteered to be the patient). I hope to add at least a doctor to this series, if not a couple more nurses.

Heroes Series - Teachers

This is the newest installment in my series: Teachers. Mrs. Coons is a special education teacher at Centerville Junior High.
The last image is still in the editing process, but you get the basic idea.

Battle of the Bands 2010

This was the BYU Battle of the Bands 2010. Some good acts, some not so great. My favorite of the four didn't win, but maybe that's because the winning band sounded completely different from all the others. Oh well. Yeah that was a very long day of set-up. But obviously during the show it didn't require any of my attention as I was able to take this photos. Now if I can just remember the names of the bands to send them these pics. I remember one is Goodnight Annabelle. If you recognize any of these people, comment and let me know the band names.

Heroes Series - firefighters part 2

A big thanks to the firefighters of the Provo Fire Department for letting me take their time and for their cooperation in making this series possible. And thank you for putting your lives on the line to save others.

Heroes series - firefighters part 1

So these are the first few images from a series entitled "Everyday Heroes." I wanted to focus on and do portraits of people who I feel are often overlooked or under-appreciated for what they do and their role in our society.

Custom soda label

So my brother and soon to be sister in law wanted to hand out Jones Soda with custom labels at their wedding, but didn't really want to spend the almost four dollars a bottle that the company would charge. Hence I was enlisted to make them. I should probably add that I didn't take these photos. They were done by a friend of his.

Seattle - Experience Music Project

This is the Experience Music Project building in downtown Seattle. It is insane. I loved the colored metal panels and the reflections in them. This was shot on Velvia 100 in a Holga.

Beach wood

I went through a brief stint where I loved macro photography. I do still enjoy it sometimes, I guess I just don't look closely enough anymore to find the beauty in the details. Anyway, that was my drive behind these. I just loved the natural designs in the wood, most notably in the last one.

Early work

These were taken at Owen's Beach in Tacoma. Not the most comfortable beach to walk on, because the sand isn't really sand, just small rocks. Oh and did I mention the water is freezing? But my friend was kind enough to help me out. This was actually my first time ever shooting with a model. Hence why my lighting sucks and you can't see her face very well. But hey, we live and we learn.

Home and abroad

So these are from five or six years ago. Some in New York, some in my hometown of Tacoma. The first two were taken from the top of the Empire State Building. The last three are at the Glass Museum in downtown Tacoma.
